Dear Parents,
Fall is in the air and the weather is getting cooler! What a wonderful week we had as we completed our unit in social studies on the North American Indians. Students loved learning about the Kwakiutl Indian tribe who lived on the north coast of Canada. It was great to see their enthusiasm as they explored the tribal life of the Kwakiutl.
We had some engaging discussions on theater arts as we continue working on our play, Moose Meets His Match. The class loved working on their parts. They are very motivated to learn about acting and the theater. Please remember to have your student continue reading their parts aloud at home.
This week we also spent time learning practical applications of “cursive writing”, and “how to count money” -- both are skills your student will continue to build on.
Coming up this week- we will begin our exciting science unit. Our subject will be all about “bats”! Then continuing our science subject on October 23rd will be Mad Science! The topic will be all about “bugs”.
Please remember that students need to read on the weekend. They may break the 20 minutes up over the course of the weekend.
Have a great week!
Blessings,
Cathy Robinson
