Mission
Many teachers and parents are well aware of the difficulties some children of normal to superior intelligence experience in trying to learn to read, write, and spell or to express themselves in speech and writing. Often a student's motivation and desire to learn are strong, but if the difficulties go untreated, the child usually falls behind in academic achievement resulting in loss of self-image and emotional distress. A loss of self-confidence and experience of failure can change personality and alter negatively the course of life for SLD children. Their potential for intellectual advancement and successful achievement in careers are blocked by inadequate command of the language skills needed for independent learning. It is my desire as an educator to help each child with such learning differences to reach their full potential. Through educational therapy and intervention techniques, students can learn to be successful in the classroom and the community.
