We will be discussing and learning about “life skills” throughout the year. The life skills we will be discussing are posted in our room and include such traits as responsibility, integrity, and honesty. Students are expected to participate as an active learner, show respect to others, school property, and to themselves. They are expected to demonstrate attentive listening, use “I” messages, and act responsibly. Additionally, students are expected to complete in-class and homework assignments.
Students will have homework Monday through Thursday. All math homework is to be completed neatly in pencil. Other homework can be completed in either pencil, blue ink, or black ink. An assignment planner will be kept to record both daily and long term assignments. Students are expected to complete assignments on time. While parental guidance is important, the ultimate responsibility for completion of all assigned work rests with your child. Students will have time in class to work on long-term projects but will also need to learn to pace their completion and do a portion of these at home. This is an important life skill that we will develop this year. Weekly lotteries are held on Fridays for all students completing all homework for the week.
