We have completed our math curriculum and will begin our real-world math project, Polyhedraville. During this project students will design and build 3-dimensional cities utilizing many of the math skills acquired this school year. Thank you all so much for your card stock donations. We are fully equipped and ready to get started!
READING
For our final core literature unit, we will read Bridge to Terabithia. As we wrap up our reading curriculum, students will spend time practicing their reading strategies while reading this heartfelt novel.
WRITING
This month, we will complete our Response to Literature writing unit. I am eager for you all to see the writing pieces the students have created this year. Students will have writing portfolios on their desk for you to see during Open House.
SCIENCE
We have completed our science curriculum and science scrapbooks.
SOCIAL STUDIES
We will finish our state reports in mid-May. This month, we will also begin our 50 State Unit. Please check the website for important test dates and reminders. Students will be learning all of the state capitals and locations on the map.
PE
During May and June, we will continue our Physical Fitness Testing. Students will be running the pacer, doing the flex arm hang, curl ups, shoulder stretch, and a modified backstretch.
