We will be working on our final projects in class. Those students who read <U>Gulliver's Stories </U>will be making a travel brochure and those who<BR>read <U>Ben and Me</U> will be making an invention. They will fill out their invention handbook at school but may need to have help actually making the invention, However you are more than welcome to send in the supplies to make their invention and they can make it during class. We are starting our next book <U>By the Great Horn Spoon.</U> This is a great story about a boy and his butler's adventures during the gold rush.We will focus on reading strategies such as inference, prediction, plot, theme, and multiple perspective.</SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 14pt" class=c8><BR></SPAN></SPAN><SPAN style="COLOR: #ff0000; FONT-SIZE: 12pt" class=c8><STRONG><BR></STRONG></SPAN><SPAN style="COLOR: #008000; FONT-SIZE: 18pt" class=c8><STRONG>Math:</STRONG></SPAN><SPAN class=c8><STRONG><BR></STRONG></SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt" class=c8>We will be focusing on multiplication, division, congruent figures, linear function, word problems with fractions, equivalent fractions, capacity, mass and weight. I will continue to do Math lab on Thursdays for children who are really struggling with the math as it gets harder.<BR></SPAN><SPAN class=c8><BR><BR><FONT color=#008080><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: times new roman; COLOR: #339966; FONT-SIZE: 18pt"><STRONG>Science</STRONG></SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: times new roman; COLOR: #339966; FONT-SIZE: 18pt"><STRONG>:</STRONG></SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: times new roman; FONT-SIZE: 12pt"><STRONG><BR></STRONG></SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: times new roman; COLOR: #000000; FONT-SIZE: 12pt">We will finish up our science this year with the study of rocks and minerals, and how the earth's crust changes through weathering, earthquakes and landslides.</SPAN><SPAN><BR></SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: times new roman; FONT-SIZE: 12pt"><BR><FONT color=#000000><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt">. <BR></SPAN></FONT><FONT color=#000080><BR><STRONG><SPAN style="COLOR: #008000; FONT-SIZE: 18pt">Social Studies</SPAN><BR></STRONG><FONT color=#000000 size=2><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">We have started the Bear Flag Revolt and the Gold Rush.
