Message from the Principal

I am thrilled to be the new principal at Marine View Middle School. After spending 12 years in the Ocean View School District, I am familiar and comfortable with the established high expectations for student achievement and professional development. While we are continually challenged by the state budget crisis, it is important to the Marine View staff and me that we continue to provide our students the same valuable programs that earned Marine View not only its outstanding reputation state wide but also the National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award. That is why we are continuing to provide outstanding programs such as Chorus, the GATE/Honors program, Jazz Ensemble, Band and a wonderful Fine/Performing Arts program. I look forward to sharing the talents and commitment of this dedicated staff as this dedication has made Marine View School the pride of our community.

Fall/Winter Concert (UPDATE) Our Fall/Winter concert has been canceled for 11/19/2009 due to unforseen circumstances and has been rescheduled for 12/3/2009. The concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. and is free of charge. We invite all our Marine View families and community members to join us for this wonderful evening.

Bus Pass Bus passes are required to ride a school bus on the way home. As it is customary students will not be turned away from the morning bus if no bus pass is presented.

Volleyball Volleyball games are scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. and second game at 4:30 p.m. (see schedule on our Upcoming Events section) Practices are held at each of the coaches discretion. Please refer to your student's schedule for practice sessions.

Dance Team Information Dance Team rehearsals will be posted on our "Upcoming Events" section. Practices are from 2:20p.m.- 3:30p.m on the specified days. Students practicing may ride the late bus home as long as they have a valid bus pass.

Dance Clinic

On Thursday, December 10, Dance Team will be participating in a dance clinic at Disneyland. The group will be working backstage with one of Disneyland's professional choreographers to improve their performance skills. This is a fee-based clinic. The cost for the professional clinic and the rest of the day in the partk is $56.00. If students have a current annual Disneyland pass, and it is not a blackout day is $20.00. Yearbook Pre-sale!

Purchase the 2009-2010 yearbook at the reduced price! If you purchase from November until Winter Break the book will only cost $30.00. After Winter Break the book will go up in price. Get your yearbook early as we typically sell out!!! 7/8 grade students with ASB funds will be able to use them to purchase a yearbook. Bring your order form completed to the front office during recess and lunch and we will submit your order. Yearbooks arrive at the end of the school year. CASH ONLY, no checks, please. **A copy of the order form can be printed from our Principal's Newsletter section.**

Calling all Ralphs Shoppers Marine view is now enrolled in the Ralphs Community Contribution Program. For instructions on how to enroll and how this program benefits Marine View, please read our Principal's Newsletter. A printable version of the newsletter is available on this website.
