Dear Parents,

This week we will not have regular homework. We are busy practicing our play during class and at
home students should be finishing up their Now and Then Reports. Please review reports for spelling
and grammar errors. Reports should be written neatly and the information should be detailed and
written in complete sentences. Students will be asked to present a portion of their report to the class
and should be able to read what they have written. The reports are due this Friday. Thanks for your
help.

The play, "Vacation on Mars," will be presented on Tuesday, December 15, in the MPR at 9:00 A.M.
The play lasts about 30 to 40 minutes. We look forward to seeing you there.

On Friday, December 18, our class holiday party will be from 10:20 to 11:40. The students will work
their way through four fun rotations. If you would like to volunteer that day please contact our room
parent, Diane Depreta-Johnson at depretajohnson@msn.com. In the afternoon we will have a book
exchange. Students are to bring a wrapped chapter book appropriate for a third grade boy or girl by
Wednesday, December 16.

Our first genre book entry was due last Friday. Students were to complete an entry and take an AR
test on the book they wrote about. Our next entry is due this Friday. When we were at the library last
Wednesday I suggested they select a mystery book for the next entry, however, it is not required that
they follow that suggestion and may read and write about another genre. Each entry is given points on
the back of their genre booket that translates to a reading grade. Three points will be deducted for late
entries.

Most of the students were very successful with the 0 - 3 times test. Over the next two weeks we will
be practicing our 4's, 5's, and 6's. Practice at home is essential too. The 4 - 6 multiplication test is
Friday, December 18.

      Have a wonderful week!

                                                                               Sincerely,

                                                                               Mrs. Fix
