World Affairs Challenge:

1.  This active club begins October 19 at 7:40.  For those interested in joining, students must be available during the last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of Spring Break!  We will be presenting our work, Global Water,  in San Francisco on Saturday.  The meetings are scheduled for Monday and Friday mornings.  Students must attend all meetings unless they are ill.

2. Students will need to read a newspaper or journal each week to keep up-to-date on recent events in the world.  Locate incidents on the maps that are provided in your notebook.  Try to find out the names of the country's leader and write that down neatly on the map.

3.  Find articles on the global water crisis and bring them into class.  We will start a file to be used by each committee.  Keep up-to-date on current international issues.

4.  January 18.  Teams selected.  Work begins in the committee and research must be completed by each member to develop the topic once a topic is agreed upon by your team.  This is a team effort; all must work toward an understanding of the topic (research, research, research) and a solution to the problem. Come to each meeting with an idea to discuss.
