Dear Miller Parents:
As you may have already heard, Richard Taylor has recently announced his
retirement. I wish Mr. Taylor all the best and thank him for his ten years of
service to the district, with the last four years served as principal at
Miller. Looking forward, it is my pleasure to announce that I have appointed
Sal Gumina as the new principal of Miller Middle School effective for the
2009-2010 school year.
Mr. Gumina is currently the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for
the Beverly Hills Unified School District. He brings a wealth of experience to
Miller including 14 years as both an elementary school and middle school
administrator. Mr. Gumina has been an educator for over 23 years and has also
taught at the middle school and high school levels. He received his bachelor’s
degree in Health Science from California State
University, Long Beach and a Masters in Education Administration from

I am confident that you will find Mr. Gumina to be a dedicated, experienced,

collaboratively with you and the staff in pursuit of the common goals of the
entire Miller community.
