Principal's Message

I thought I would share some interesting things that are happening at
Millikan...we are an Intel School of Distinction Finalist (math), one of 18
schools in the country, out of 5000 applicants. The Math Department received
a $5000 grant for its hard work...Mr. Carlos Lauchu of the Science Academy
was selected as one of LAUSD's Teachers of the Year...Mr. Dohn, Computer
Department, was Skype'd on CNN International during class time to comment on
Steve Job's passing...you can read more about the goings at Millikan:

FIFTY YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED EXCELLENCE

For fifty years the faculty and staff at Millikan Middle School have
dedicated themselves to providing each student the opportunity to achieve
academic excellence. We work hard to ensure that each student attains the
education that he/she deserves and inspire the personal character from within
to bring out the best in every child.

Through our Academies we structure our instructional program to meet the
unique needs of each of our students and emphasize all forms of instructional
and extra-curricular excellence. It is our goal to create a positive and
supportive learning environment for each student.

We recognize and we teach students that there are no shortcuts to success. We
expect all students to work hard by having exemplary attendance and work
habits. We in turn will work hard to make our students dreams a reality and
every goal attainable.

We are proud to welcome you as part of the Millikan tradition of fifty years
of distinguished excellence.
