  • At Mission, Japanese classes are more than just learning the language and getting the grades: our teachers incorporate various activities and events, such as Undokai and Omatsuri (Japanese Field Day and Food Festival, respectively), into the course both during class and outside of school for everyone to enjoy! The teachers even make an effort to get to know their students and care for them, too; what more could you ask for? ---S.K. J3 student

  • Although people might say that Japanese is difficult, I think that it's worth it. You feel a certain pride when people ask you what language you take and you say that you're taking Japanese. Japanese might not be as easy as Spanish, or any other language, but it's loaded with ALOT MORE FUN. We have activities throughout the year, such as Undokai, the Food Fest, and the Karoke Festival. You will also have tons of fun throughout the year because you'll get to know each other like family, because unlike the other subjects in which there are ALOT of people who take the language, you know that there are a limited number in the people in Japanese. IT'S LIKE ONE BIG FAMILY! Take Japanese. You won't regret it! --- S.L. J3

  • I took other languages for 3 years before I decided to switch to Japanese. I've found Japanese to be a very interesting class, not to mention easier as well. The other language had many different complex forms to memorize while Japanese is a lot easier. Although you do have to learn 2 new alphabets for Japanese, it is no where near as difficult as it sounds. Japanese 1 uses almost the entire first semester to learn the alphabets and everyone was able to learn them quickly. Japanese is also more of a "fun" class. It is less restricted since there are a lot more group activities which make learning the language a lot more interesting. We often do group activities in class that get the students out of their seats and let them move around. Also, all the people who I've had in my Japanese classes have been extremely easy-going people who I can get along with easily, no matter what grade he or she is in. All in all, Japanese is one of my favorite classes. It was completely worth it. B.H. J

  • J2 Japanese Class is fun… for a while until it even gets MORE fun!  Japanese class is taught by the coolest teachers, Okamura and Madsen sensei (teachers).  You get to enjoy very fun activities such as a Undokai, a field day, Omatsuri, a market day and many other fun activites you might enjoy. ----E.Y.
