Goal: That all students learn about and enjoy a particular aspect of Japanese culture through activities and presentations prepared by each group. 

Poster & Initial 3-Minute Presentation (40 pts total)

  1. Make a poster that describes characteristics of the festival. (20 pts.) Poster due date: ____________
    • The poster should include:  name of the students, presentation date, Japanese date of festival, five Japanese words, five aspects of the festival in Japanese.
  2. 3-minute initial presentation of your festival in Japanese. (20 pts) Date of presentation: ___________
    • Introduce vocabulary accurately and clearly.
    • Advertise the festival to the class in Japanese, and show your poster.

Grading Criteria for 1-hour Presentation (120 pts.)

    • The class learned the meaning of the festival.  (20 pts.)
    • Japanese was used as much as possible for the entire hour.  New vocabulary was clearly presented. (20 pts.)
    • Visual aids were used during the presentation. (10 pts.)

                                                               i.      A variety of festival photos were shown by PowerPoint. (10 pts.)

                                                             ii.      Five characteristics of the festival were logically presented. (10 pts.)

    • Sufficient leadership skills displayed, and (      )% of the class engaged in the activity. (10 pts)
    • The hands-on activity was meaningful.   (10 pts)
    • The entire event was creative and fun. (10 pts)
    • The entire presentation was prepared and rehearsed well.  Time was used effectively. (10 pts)
    • All necessary items for the presentation and activities were prepared. (10 pts)
The final grade will be adjusted based on  the instructors and classmates evaluation.
