General Announcements

MHS Counseling staff is developing new ways to communicate with parents.
With this in mind we invite you to click on your student's grade level, and
you will automatically receive announcements and updates that pertain to
your child's class level.

Tutoring is available during "Guided Study" in the library Wednesday through
Friday and Mondays and Wednesdays after school in the library. For a pass
to attend during "Guided Study", a student asks a teacher or counselor for a
pass. After school a student needs to drop in to the library.

New Semester Schedule Changes!!

As we begin a new semester in January, we would like to remind you of the
existing district policy, #5122, regarding students' timelines for
withdrawing from classes:

5.a. "A student who drops a course during the first six weeks of a semester
may do so without any entry on the permanent record card.

  b. A student who drops a course after the first six weeks of the semester
shall receive an "F" on the permanent record."

Thus, the deadlines for spring semester are as follows:

Friday, January 19 is the last day to make a schedule change from one class
to another, other than IWE/TA; Friday, February 15 is the last day for a
student to drop or change a class to a TA or IWE. All drops after this date
will result in an "F" grade for the semester. Only level changes, (if a
student is misplaced), with the acknowledgement of the two teachers and
parent's permission are allowed after this date.

Parent/Student Support Meetings:

These meetings will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 PM in
the cafeteria. We will be focusing on a variety of topics from study skills
to community resources. Please contact the Counseling Department for more
information.
