Homework in 2nd grade is a bridge between the weekly packets your child
received in 1st grade and the Homework Planner your child will have in 3rd
grade.
Your child will have a daily homework sheet which they have, hopefully,
placed in their red homework binder to go home.
The homework is fairly routine - 20 minutes of reading everyday, plus:
Monday night is a Language Arts assignment.
Tuesday night is Dictionary homework.
Wednesday night is Spelling Workbook pages.
Thursday night is a practice spelling test.
Friday, they go home with their weekend reading log.
This routine does change if we have short weeks, or if there is a more
pressing assignment we are working on.
Math assignments hardly ever go home, as we do one hour (or more) each day
of math. This lends more than enough time to complete the work. If your
child does bring home math work, it just means that they weren't able to
complete the assignment in the allotted time.
