We survived our first week back after vacation and I swear each and everyone of the kids got bigger and
smarter. I am so impressed with their capabilities. They are all reading beautifully and I can't even
express how impressed I am with their writing skills. This class is awesome!
We have started our fairy tale unit and the class is so excited. Those of you that would like to come and
read your favorite fairy tale to the class please just let me know. I know the class would love for you to
come in. As a culmination of this unit our class will be having a ball. Each child will dress up as their
favorite fairy tale character and dance the day away. We will be having cookies and punch and there
may even be a little surprise for the parents at the end. Please look for your invitation in the coming
weeks. I will send out an email to let you know when they are being sent out. If any of you would like
to help plan the Ball, please let me know. This will be a lot of fun.
Another event (or field trip) that we will be going on for this unit is taking a trip to Bears, Buddies and
Toys. I will let you know when this trip is scheduled. I am hoping to have this information for you by
the end of this week.
May 14th is Open House from 7-8:30 pm. We will be getting out of school at 12:30 pm. Open House
will start at 7 pm with an Art Gallery Exhibit in the the MPR. Please make sure you attend so that you
can see some of the art projects your child has been working on this year. After the art show, you will
be able to walk over to your child's classroom and see what we have been doing in the past few months.
Each child will get to show you around the classroom so please make sure you mark the day and time
down on your calender.
Yom Ha'Atzmaut - Israeli Independence Day is May 8th. We will be having a bunch of fun activities that
day. Please make sure you ask your child what they did that day.
May 23rd is Lag Ba Omar. Student council will be hosting a day of fun outdoor activities for the school.
