First Grade Homework
Written homework assignments will go home every Monday and Wednesday nights.
All homework goes home in their homework folder and is to be completed and
returned the next morning. Monday's homework will be spelling activities to
help prepare them for Friday's spelling test. Wednesday's homework will be a
review of a concept we have learned in math. Needless to say, reading is an
integral part of our program. In first grade we require at least 20 minutes
of reading each night. We may also have ongoing homework projects like book
reports,current events, oral presentations, etc.
Please check your child's homework to make sure they understand what is
expected of them. I would prefer that homework is not done in Day Care.
They should do it at home in a quiet place designated for homework.
If, for some reason, your child can not complete their homework on the
assigned day, return it the next day.
