Week of May 22nd, 2012 Dear Parents, The final days of school are fast approaching, and the count down towards the dinner dance is right around the corner too! I know that there is a great amount of things going on and I would like to thank all parents for their hard work and dedication to make these last few weeks of school the best that they can be. From a parent perspective it seems that all that we do is never ending and I want you all to know that I thank you for all that you do. Parents play such a strong role in children's lives and all of your children are great examples of how successful and dedicated they will be in their future. Please keep a look out for the updates from Mrs. Tabuno and Mrs. Valladares about the dinner dance and all that we need to get done. Please note that the time has been changed for the dinner dance meeting on Thursday the 24th from 6:30 to 5:30. Please try and send a least one parent from each family to attend! If you are unable, please email me and let me know. As a side note in regards to the dinner dance, we are still in need of parents to assist in donating, especially towards food items. If you are willing and also need fundraising to be completed by the end of the year please contact myself or Yesenia Perez. We will do our best in helping you as much as needed. As you all know I assigned the students an end of the year writing assignment. I know that they will enjoy writing this final essay as it will allow the students to reflect on the experiences that they have had on their years at MHT. By Thursday the students have all of their note cards due, 10 in all. They have been working vey hard on this and I am very proud of the time that they are spending on their assignment. Their final essay will be due by Friday June 1st!! I will be including this essay into their final grade on their report card and it will count towards their LA grade. Please note that the students will be working with me on their essay prior to us leaving on the field trip on Tuesday. (Please note that the inspiration project will all be due by this Friday the 25h! The students have been working on it all week and are aware of what needs to be done.) On Tuesday, May 29th, we will be having our annual 7th and 8th grade field trip. This year we will be going to Great America! We will be leaving school at 9:30 AM and will be returning by the 4 PM. Please make sure that your child has the appropriate clothing for the day and is also ready for the weather if it may happen to change. I would also encourage each child to bring sunscreen, a towel and flip flops/sandals, especially if you plan to go in the water park that they have. If you would like to send money with your child for lunch you may do so, however please note that the students may bring their own lunch as well. I am still in need of a few drivers I have enough room now for 18 students as of today. Please note that you do not need to stay, you can just drop off if needed. I hope that you all have a great week and hope that you enjoy the three day weekend ahead! Please note that we have no school on Monday the 28th! Take care, Mrs. Jordan _____________________________________________________________ MHT Uniform Policy December 9, 2011 Students are required to come to school and remain in full uniform throughout the school day.
