Pg. 18 scientific process from hand out Hypothesis: An idea that can be experimentally tested to answer a question; an idea with the lowest level of confidence. Independent Variable: The one variable that is changed or tested in an experiment.Dependent Variable: The factor being measured in an experiment. It is dependent on what is being changed.Constants: The variables (all other factors) that stay the same during your experiment. Control: A sample that is treated exactly like the other experimental groups, except that the independent variable is not applied to it. Conclusion: The results of a carefully thought out, measured and data rich experiment.
Pg. 17 define Independent and Dependent and write 2 sentences explaining the relationship of these two words in regards of the scientific process
Pg. 20 two reasons why scientist use the metric system 1) Because scientists all over the world need to communicate in the same mathematical language when comparing research. 1) The metric system is based on units of 10, therefore it is easier to use when multiplying and dividing.
Pg. 19: Metric scale pasted and complete
Pg. 22: Basics of Genetics presentation: Genotype, Phenotype, Alleles, Dominant, Recessive, Homozygous, Heterozygous
Pg. 21: A visual for each of the three pairs of words
Pg. 24: Notes on DNA
Pg. 23: A drawing of a DNA model w/ all 6 parts labeled
Pg. 26: Tools and Rules: Laws of Segregation and Independent Assortment, Punnett Square and Gene
Pg. 25: Written explaination of the first two and a model of the PS
Pg. 28: Genetic Exceptions: Multiple Alleles, Codominance, Pedigree, Polygenic Traits
Pg. 27: Genetic Exceptions : Blood types 3alleles, 4 phenotype, 6 genotypes
Pg. 30: Genetic Exceptions: Sex linked traits, pedigrees, and Genetic disorders
Pg. 29: Table of genetic disorders, visual example of polygenic trait.
