Sorry for the delay in updating my announcements.
I hope everyone had a nice week off and did some relaxing.
It is going to be a busy next 3 weeks but our first day back was a great day.
Students are working hard and I am happy to see them back with such enthusiasm.
Curriculum
In class we are beginning our new unit in Reading workshop. Your child will be
studying non-fiction narrative. Your child will be reading in class a
non-fiction narrative and Bloom's Taxonomy.
Remember to continue using Bloom's Taxonomy questions at
home to help your child begin to comprehend at higher levels.
Writing Workshop: We are beginning our new unit in Personal Essay.
Math: During the month of December, your 4th grade child will be working on
multiplication and division. 5th grade students will be working on
multiplication and division with decimals.
There will be NO weekly writes for the mmonth of December. Instead your child
will be working on their Mission reports (slideshow) or State Reports
(slideshow). We will be in the computer lab up to 3 hours a week workin gon
their slideshows. I am proud of their progress and feel they are really coming

Science: I have handed out a Science weekly assignment sheet so that you can
keep track of what the assignments are for each week.
4th grade parents: Our San Jose mission field trip is next Monday, December
8th. Your child will need to pack a bag lunch. We will eat in the classroom
(or outside if weather permits) before leaving for the mission. We will be
leaving at 11:30 a.m. and returning around 2:45 p.m. Please dress warm because
we will be taking a docent tour which includes a tour of outdoor areas such as
the grave sight. We are still in need of 2 more parent volunteers - please let
me know asap.
