Why be a PTA member? Joining allows you to:
  • Become informed, exchange ideas and be able to ask questions about  your child's educational experience at Newport El.
  • Listen to school updates by our principal Dr. Nagy. This is a great forum for you to get to know your principal in an informal setting.
  • The PTA Executive Board will deliver committee reports on everything from the budget and fundraising to room parent information and upcoming events.
  • Outside Speakers provide valuable information on topics such as parenting, cyber bullying, our local junior high school Ensign, nutrition on our school campus, test scores, GATE, school district happenings and more.
  • Vote on issues that affect you and your children.  You must be a member for 30 days to be eligible to vote.
  • Issues include: how to spend our generous fundraising dollars, the PTA budget, enrichment classes, our students safety, programs, etc.
          …Attending PTA meetings is OPTIONAL. Meetings are open to all PTA members.
 

It’s easy to join by simply submitting your membership dues of $10 per person along with a PTA membership form.  Forms are available in the office and on the PTA website under forms. Becoming a Newport El PTA member automatically enrolls as you as a member for state and national PTA as well. Parents, teachers, grandparents, even students can join to show support!
