Room Parents and volunteers!
Thank you so much for volunteering your time and talents working in your student's classroom. The teachers can definitely use the help and the kids love to see familiar faces on campus!
Please remember that all parent volunteers must have a current negative TB test on file in the office. These tests are good for 4 years. Parents with current results on file will be given a green TB card to show every time they sign in to volunteer. Without this card, you will not be able to help in the classroom.
If you have any questions regarding this procedure, please call or visit Janine, our school nurse, in the office. She will be glad to answer any questions.
If you know that you need to get a TB test, you can schedule a visit with your primary care physician or have the test done at any Urgent Care or walk-in clinic. The SC Physicians Immediate Care located at 23501 Cinema Drive Ste.100 does them for $15 if you tell them you are with North Park PTA. US HEALTHWORKS does them for $15 also, but requires you to show their flyer, which is available in the office. Be sure to go back within 48-72 hours to have the test result read, or you will have to start all over. The original test result must be provided to the office and it is advised that you keep a copy for your own records.
We appreciate your assistance and cooperation in safe guarding our students by following the TB procedure.
