Mr. Azama was born in Okinawa, Japan. He is a member of various professional organizations such
as the California Language Teachers Association, Monterey Bay Foreign Language Project, California
Association of Japanese Language Teachers, and the National Council of Japanese Language
Teachers. He has conducted numerous workshops and teacher training on various topics throughout
the United States. His Japanese class was featured in a WGBH of Boston video series for teacher

His interests are karate, DJing, movies, camping, music and movie making, drumming, traveling,
learning different languages and more!
To increase interest and understanding of various cultures and people of the world with a
particular focus on Japanese people and language. In our Japanese classes, students acquire skills to
communicate and create bridges between the USA and the Japanese speaking world. To prepare
students for their future in the new International environment, where people's need to communicate
and understand one another is crucial for a sustainable global society/community.
