Dear parents and students,
6th History
The history test is on Tuesday. Each student has a study guide and we have gone over that content. I hope they study more than they did for the last science test. I am running low on hair to pull out J Later in the week we do a spice simulation about trade. This engaging activity happens entirely in class.
6th Science
On Monday each student considers all the observation we made in our “field trips” and generates a plate tectonics theory. They find this very challenging. Then we spend a couple of weeks learning plate tectonics in more traditional ways, so at the end of the unit until they all understand.
7th Science
Each year I try to squeeze in a unit specifically about the nature of science. When students understand the processes and vocabulary, the concepts make more sense. Science is stable, yet ever-changing!

8th Science
The students have 10 class periods with nothing to do but construct layers. They should have 10 layers on the 17th and must bring them all in. A bridge made of 6 layers may still be strong and attractive enough for a C, but is more likely to get a D…or lower. No layers may be made after 12/17 for any reason. However, the layers will of course be attached together.
