Welcome to Ms. Fiori's English class site!
As we near the end of the year, the English classes are focusing on strengthening their knowledge and skills in all areas of the language arts. During the months of May and June, we will be strengthening students' understanding of specific elements of literature and further developing and using correct forms of grammar in various writing pieces. These sections include the following items:
- Grammar: Prepositions, Adverbs, and Sentence Structure
- Writing: Expository, Persuasive, and Research
- Cornell Notes
- Novel Units: 6th My Brother Sam is Dead, 7th The Shakespeare Stealer, 8th A Midsummer Night's Dream
- Vocabulary and Spelling Units
Students should be prepared each day for class with materials set out in the class syllabus which each student received on the first day of classes.
Even though it is May, the students should STILL have an outside reading book with them at all times during the school day. They will be assigned readings in their books during school and at home. This book should be one that is of interest to the student.
The season is filled with wonderful events and is a great time to be a part of the Notre Dame family and community. I thank you very much for helping out our class and school with your participation in these events!
Each day, we are working each day towards academic and personal success at Notre Dame.
