WEEK OF NOVEMBER 16
Parents and Family
The end of the trimester soon approaches and it is the moment for reflection and analysis...not
panic. If a student has not performed up to a level where the grade is not an A or B, then it is time to
look back and ask...Did the student complete their work on time? Did the student work with the
teacher to review assignments on a regular basis? Did the student use their time wisely to prepare
for tests or projects (which usually are given a month or more before the due date)? Is this where my
student actually performs? Are there factors affecting performance in the classroom that need to be
discussed (sports, performance arts, flying airplanes to Hawaii)?
All these are very real questions but are in their very nature part of an ongoing process of review
each student needs to take in and participate in during their junior high years in anticipation of a
higher and more critical level of thinking in high school.
Let's see how this turns out...remember, it's the first trimester, two more to go.
Peace to You
