Welcome to my webpage! I hope this page helps you find important information
about our class. Please check back regularly and look for updates!
Office Hours:
If you need to come in for extra help with assignments or studying, you are
welcome to see me anytime. Office hours are by appointment before school
or after school.
Notebook:
All students are required to have an interactive notebook in class. This
notebook is used to organize their notes, homework assignments, and other
assessments. In the front of the note book is the assignment log, which
allows the students to keep track of the grades they are earning. It is also
a helpful tool for parents, so that they can be more aware of their students
grades day to day.
Grading Scale:
Students will receive an academic grade and a citizenship grade each
trimester.
The academic grade will be based on the students mastery of the science
standards. The grading scale for this is 90-100%=A (Performing Above
Standard), 80-89%=B (Performing At Standard), 70-79%=C (Performing Near
Standard), 60-69%=D (Performing Below Standard), and 0-59%= F (Performing Far
Below Standard).
The citizenship grade will be based on effort, percentage of assessments
completed (homework, classwork, tests, quizzes, projects, etc.), class
participation, and classroom behavior. The students can receive and O
(outstanding), S (satisfactory), N (needs improvement), and U
(unsatisfactory).
