Do I have to know my addition and subtraction facts to 18?
Yes, you need to know your facts and be able to recall them quickly.
You will have a timed test every month and should be able to do 50
problems in 3 minutes.

the third graders on Tuesdays.

What is D.E.A.R.?
Drop Everything And Read for 20-30 minutes every night. It could be silent
reading, reading to your family, or taking turning listening to a story and
reading it to a family member.

When are dictation tests?
Dictation/spelling tests are every Friday. The dictation words come home on the
every Monday stapled to the quiz from the previous week.

What shoes are appropriate?
Please always wear good running shoes. Be prepared to have P.E. everyday. Crocs, Uggs, flip-flops,
and boots are not appropriate shoes for school.

What about hats?
I strongly encourage wearing a hat everyday to protect your face on the playground at recess and
lunch. I have a special cubby in the back of the room to store them. And don't forget the sunscreen!
