School Vision and Mission Ocean View School District continues with the theme Charting the Course – Success for All. The District is concentrating on the processes that provide academic growth and has established two primary goals: • To increase student achievement through an assessment-driven, standards-based instructional program. • To effectively utilize the instructional day and year to increase student achievement. Our vision for Oak View students is to empower them to accept responsibility for their learning, to develop high self-esteem, and to become productive members of society. In order to provide a high-quality educational program for all students, staff and parents are committed to working cooperatively, communicating effectively, and participating in shared responsibility for the student’s learning. The mission of Oak View School is: To provide all students with a high- quality educational program which: • Meets the three goals of—English language proficiency, academic success, and positive self-esteem. • Creates a safe school environment that promotes optimum achievement which results in students who have high aspirations, positive attitudes, and a love of learning. • Fosters in the Oak View student and parents feelings of acceptance and respect for themselves and others which sustains a growing awareness of our interdependence of school and community.
