                                                            Smart Boards

In case you haven't looked in the classrooms, the Smart Boards are here!  The students are very excited!  They are scheduled to be installed on Tuesday and Wednesday the week of November 23rd.  Hopefully, you will be able to see them up on the walls before we leave for Thanksgiving break.  The school (parents, students, and teachers) owe a great big "Thank You" to our very generous donor.

This is great news for 4th grade because any money that we raise in donations can now go for improvements/extras  to make our Smart Board an even better learning tool for the students.  The three things that would be of the greatest benefit to the classroom at this time are an Elmo (document processor that allows books, pictures, etc. to be shown on the board), a speaker system that is mounted on each side of the board (without speakers, sound will only project through the computer), and an interactive tablet that allows students/teacher to write on the tablet from anywhere in the classroom and have it show up on the board.  The Elmo is approximately $800, the speaker system is about $200, and the tablet $200 - $300.  This is far better than the $4000.00 we were trying to raise for the board itself.

We have been blessed with a few donations already, but we need your help, and the help of your family and/or friends, to make the improvements to our classroom that will benefit the learning success of your children.  If you or anyone you know needs a tax deduction for 2009, please consider giving the gift of an enhanced education to our 4th grade students.  A special Smart Board account has already been set up with Mrs. Havlena.  All donations will go directly for fourth grade.

Remember...... the sooner we receive donations, the sooner we can place the order, and the sooner your child will benefit!

                                                                                                      Thank you,
                                                                                                         Mrs. Burt
