Greetings,
Thank you so very much for the lovely luncheon that was provided by the parents last Thursday. Everything was just perfect. I loved the cards, flowers, gifts, and the appreciation that was expressed by so many of our families. I hope many of the parents in my class will come to the parent appreciation dinner the staff is planning on Tuesday evening. We are planning a very special dinner that we hope you all will enjoy. We do appreciate all of our families that support our school in so many ways.
I thoroughly enjoyed our Talent Show on Friday night. We have some incredibly talented students at our school. Mrs. Lopez did a wonderful job directing it. The show came across flawlessly. Of course, I particularly enjoyed the singing and dancing of Marissa, Jillian, Daniela, and Emma, the dancing of Kaylee, the singing duet of Madelyn and her brother Matthew on the guitar, and budding comedian Julian Castro. Emily of fifth grade earned a standing ovation on her rendition of the song from Annie, 'Tomorrow". It was a very fun evening! Thanks to all the parents who made this evening possible.
I hope many of you will be at the last family Mass this Sunday. Unfortunately, I will not be able to be there as I will be attending my nephew's Baccalaureate Mass at St. Monica's in Santa Monica. I look forward to seeing many of my students in free dress most of the week. Since we have a field trip on Thursday, I would like to see our students wear their Spirit Day shirts. They are to wear them again on Friday so I hope they won't get themselves dirty. It is good to advertise our school when we are out in public.
We look forward to Fun Day after Mass on Friday, and getting out early for the Memorial Day weekend. It looks like we are going to have another busy week. I will be out of the classroom on Monday due to some personal business. Mrs. Menendez will be substituting for me that day.
A letter home went home on Wednesday regarding our next field trip to the Discovery Center and a possible end of the year picnic at Shark Park. Please send in the required paperwork as soon as possible. I do hope to see many of you on Tuesday.
