About The Teacher
Mrs. Steffens is happy to be back at PLHS for her eighth year. She earned her degrees in Secondary English Education and Bible at Northwestern University in St. Paul, MN where she was on the track team, in musicals, and also on the yearbook staff for four years, three of those in editorial positions. Following graduation, she taught as a volunteer missionary at a Lutheran high school in Slovakia and later moved to Hong Kong with her husband, Kevin Steffens, also a teacher at Pacific Lutheran. They have two children. Mrs. Steffens hosts a girls' prayer and fellowship lunch on Tuesdays at school, supervises study hall on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and advises Student Council this year. She is also looking to start a yearbook club as an extracurricular activity. As a part-time teacher, she is not normally present at school in the mornings, but special arrangements can be made. Please contact her at school or via e-mail with any questions or concerns. She will often be available after school Monday through Thursday to give students extra help or to meet with parents.
