Volunteer Information

Friendly Reminder: When grading tests or other student work, please understand that CONFIDENTIALITY is extremely important to not only the teacher but also that child and his/her family. Please do not discuss the results or scores of any child to other parents or students. THANK YOU!

The Top 10 Reasons Why Ms. Katsuda’s
Parent Volunteers are the Best!

10)  They make copies/risos of worksheets without complaint

9)           They grade spelling tests, math timed tests, reading tests and correct papers with a key with ease and speed

8)           They help children one-on-one with reading with their chapter books

7)    They file both class work into our conduits and portfolios so quickly
6)           They cut paper, glue, and help make our work look pretty

5)           They work patiently with small groups on reading comprehension, fluency testing, and writing

4)           They collate and staple homework packets and word process in a crunch

3)           They make phone calls, create beautiful bulletin boards, and chaperone field trips

2)           They know how to throw a party!!

Yet, the NUMBER ONE reason why you all are the best is that you allow me the time to focus on your children, teaching!  Once again, I cannot tell you how fortunate I feel to have you as a volunteer.  Thank you so much for all your help and consistency.

NOTE: Chloe, Nathan, and Surabhi's mom (Help at home - correcting with key) I especially need help on Fridays if you're able to come. There are a lot of Friday tests to grade and record such as spelling, math, and reading. However, in order to run this classroom as optimally as possible, we need volunteers every day. Please let me know if you are able to help in the classroom on any day via email (kkatsuda@iusd.org) or by phone (936-6986). Thank you!!

If you would prefer to work in small groups with children, let me know. However, if you prefer to copy worksheets and correct with a key, I have plenty of work for that too. Thank you again for all your help in the classroom. I know both your child and I couldn't do it without it!!
