I will be out of the classroom this Tuesday.  Hopefully, this will be my final visit to the dentist!  Mr. Angeli will be here, but Mrs. Valenzuela will no longer be available to sub for me.  Fortunately for her, she was hired as our site's English Language Development tutor.  We will be having a new sub on Tuesday.  Her name is Miss Agnos.  She has been on campus for other teachers, so she is familiar with our school.  I will remind the children to help her out by being on their best behavior.

While we haven't really had much time to practice, the first graders are going to try to pull off a VERY SHORT Thanksgiving performance on Friday morning.  We will be performing one song in the quad area at 8:30.  PLEASE be sure to park your car in an unmarked space or on the street that morning.  No need to bring chairs--it is REALLY short!  I ask that you have your child arrive on time Friday so that they don't miss the performance.  Kinders will not be participating.  They will have their chance next year (but they do get to be part of the audience!)  

I think that Mrs. Clark is planning her messy art lesson for Monday.  If your child has not brought in an old T-shirt, please be sure that they wear something that can tolerate paint splatters!

I will be off campus this Tuesday for my monthly grade level meeting.  Mrs. Valenzuela will be here with Mr. Angeli.  Remember that there is NO SCHOOL on Wednesday (11/11).  We will be closed for Veteran's Day. 
 
Kinders will be receiving their first homework packet for the week on Monday.  I am creating a lot of the sheets myself so that they really reinforce what we are doing in class.  Hopefully the directions will make sense.  Homework packets will be sent home on Monday, and they are due back the following Monday.  Fix its and the reading log are still part of homework. 


Just a reminder about dismissal pick up.  The area by the office is for direct car loading ONLY.  If you are going to walk up to pick up your child, please have them go to the east gate and meet them there.  Walking up to escort your child to the car is considered "walking."   Thanks for your cooperation!
