CLASSROOM NEWS & UPCOMING EVENTS

INFORMATION & REMINDERS:

HEALTH/MATURITY TALK:  On May 22, the Maturity Talk will take place from 11-12.  It is suggested that you take your child to lunch to answer any questions they may have and to futher any discussion.

RAFFLE BASKET:  Each class has been asked to fill a container for theTeamCommunityClub raffle at our annual end of the year BBQ. The theme for our container is“LET’S PARTY!”

I am asking your help in filling the container with any of the items listed on the attached sheet. A sign up sheet is posted on our door for any item you wish to donate.

Thank you very much for your help! The money raised will help support our school! Raffle tickets for all the classroom containers will be on sale soon!

Thank you again for all your help!

FIELD TRIP: We will be going to West Valley Middle School on Tuesday May 29 to see their production of "ANNIE."  We will be leaving campus at 12:00 noon and returning around 3:00pm.  Students can either bring a bag lunch with a drink OR purchase a HOT LUNCH at the middle school.

Please let me know if you would like to be a chaperone and/or drive a few students in your car. Thank you!!

IRIS:  Iris is back and feeling well.  She is going home with the Dalbecs this weekend.  Have fun!

Planners:  We are working toward having student planners signed each and every night, including Fridays.  When students and parents have signed the planner for 2 weeks in a row, that family will receive a certificate and a NO HOMEWORK pass, good for opting out of one assignment.  Keep up the great work!

School Supplies: This is a great time to replenish school supplies. We could definitely use binder paper, #2 pencils, and CLOROX WIPES!  Thank you to those families who have donated these to our classroom!  They help in so many ways :)

Yearbook Sales (2011-2012): Yearbook sales have begun! The order forms are available in the office. The price goes up incrementally every month.

Discovery Quests Please see the Discovery Quests link on the sidebar for the list of students and the dates they are presenting.

Discovery Quests
can
be as in depth as you would like, or as simple as a 5-6 sentence paragraph talking about your topic.  If you would like to create or bring a visual aid, you may do so. We will be working on our public speaking skills and getting up in front of our classmates to give a presentation (this will also work on confidence building).
