What is a current event report and the Discovery Quest?

Each week I will post a note announcing who will be presenting a
current event report or Discovery quest for the month. Your
student may report on a subject we are studying in class or can
report on a special interest topic.

Topics will have guidelines and a point system for grading.
Students may look online, read the paper or may take some
information from a magazine.
Discovery quests are questions that your student will research
and tell us about. A set of questions is included in the
packet. Presentations are graded on poise, confidence and
information to the audience.

What do you do for cooking projects?

Each month we cook! Each of the projects are kid friendly and
offers the student a chance to pour, measure, slice, count, mix,
shop and taste!!!
Our supply list is always posted on our door. We will always try
to make our cooking projects sugarfree when possible and will
incorporate many of the academic skills to our projects.

What is the LifeSkill and Student of the month awards?

Each month I will choose one student for each award. LifeSkill
winners have lunch with the Principal and Student of the Month
winners are recognized at our bi-monthly award assembly. Letters
will go home explaining each award in depth. I will contact you
with that information if your child is recognized!

What are the State Standards for Fourth Grade?

Content standards were designed to encourage the highest
achievement of every student, by defining the knowledge,
concepts, and skills that students should
acquire at each grade level.

At Primary Plus we not only meet the State Standards but exceed
them. To view all the standards, visit this website...

What is the Spelling Contract?

Spelling contracts will assist your student in practicing their
words each week. Your child needs to complete 3 different ways
to practice their words. Please initial the contract and return
the form with all the work on Friday.
For a listing of words, view our "announcement" page.
