Homework

Our theme next week is “All Around the World”

Customs and cultures are popular themes in early childhood classrooms.
Children are often fascinated by other cultures, and early childhood is a good
time to begin learning about one’s own culture, as well as those of others.
Exposing children to other cultures and ways of life at a young age can help
them appreciate differences and provide a framework on which they can build as
they encounter different people from a wide range of backgrounds.

For homework, please complete the mini-report sheet with your child.
Each child will have a different country to share to class next week. You can
use books, magazines, or the internet to complete your report. This weekend
can be a great time to go to the library, pick out some books about their
country, and share to class.

Thank you,
Junior K Teachers

DUE MONDAY

____________________________________________________________________________

Dear Parents,

Every Wednesday your child will be bringing home a very special homework
assignment. This assignment is not for your child to do alone. This
assignment is designed to get the parents involved with their child.
Completing the parent/child homework will increase your child's learning in
serveral ways. Parent/child homework provides reinforcement of the concept
and practice of the skills introduced at school. Your involvement in your
child's schoolwork will give school more significance in his or her eyes.
Most importantly, your child will grow to understand that learning takes
place at home, school and every place in between.

Your weekly participation in parents/child homework will be a learning
experience. Our homework will be an ongoing line of communication between
you and the classroom. You will have the opportunity to observe how your
child learns and what he or she is learning. You will have an understanding
of how your child is progressing through the curriculum as you watch him or
her work through each assignment.

Thank you for your cooperation in our home/school partnership.
