Mrs. Cronin is very happy to have been teaching at Queen of All
Saints for 30 years. For 29 of those years, she thoroughly enjoyed teaching Third Grade, with each of
those years being very different and very special.
Teaching Third Grade was very exciting to Mrs.Cronin; there was always something
'new' and 'wonderful'.
Each of her children, over the years, retains a special place in her heart. As of the current school
year, (2008-2009), Mrs. Cronin was moved from Third Grade to the newly-created position of
Resource Teacher.
Mrs. Cronin truly loves
the children, the families, and Q.A.S.'s long-time history. What a special
experience it was to teach the
sons and daughters of many of her former third-graders!
Mrs. Cronin was born and raised in San Francisco, and has always lived in the
Bay Area. She went
through Catholic Schools - Holy Name Elementary, Mercy High, and San
Francisco College for Women (Lone Mountain). After graduating from college
and earning her California Elementary Teaching Credential (now a Life
Credential), she taught in San Francisco Public Schools
for several years before staying home to raise her three children: Jim,
Steve, and Kathy, who likewise went through Catholic
Schools. She also taught in public schools in San Mateo and Contra Costa
Counties, before coming to Q.A.S. in 1979.
Mrs. Cronin became Vice-principal at Q.A.S. in 1984, and, in 1988, she
earned her California School Administrative Services Credential. In
1993, she earned a Master of Science Degree in Educational Administration
from California State University, Hayward (East Bay), and her California
Professional Level Administrative Credential.
Mrs. Cronin also is a Certified Catechist.
Mrs. C. loves to learn, loves to teach, and loves God, her family, and Q.A.S.
(and Disneyland).
A student's time with me is a time of him/her being nurtured and being sincerely cared about. It is of
utmost importance to me that my students experience ongoing joy of
learning, that the children like to learn. To that end, much of what is
taught is
learned without the children fully realizing that deliberate teaching is
actually going on.
It is very important to me that the children feel good about themselves, and
enjoy success. That my children learn to live in justice, and to be responsible for themselves -
their behavior,
their work, their commitments, and their Christ-like treatment of others -
is of
paramount importance.
