Dear Parents,
This is the Channel 2 news update for Spring!
Here are some of the great things happening in our class.☺
Reading:
We are continuing to read in our Literature book. The last story we
read was about Dinosaurs and we are having a terrific time. Our class
room is full of Dinosaur books and Dinosaurs!! In May, our last book
report for the year will be assigned. It’s a easy one and a delicious one too!
Math:
By now, I’m sure you know that we are starting to learn multiplication
facts. Weekly packets will be coming home as well as starting to memorize
the multiplications facts for 2’s, 5’s 10’s and 11’s. We may get farther than
those. We also will begin division too! To round out the year, we will touch
upon Geometry, Measurement and Fractions.
Religion:
First Communion is just around the corner. We are studying the parts of the
Mass and continue to learn new prayers.
Music:
Our class play is in June 5th. Save the date and bring the camera or video!
It is the cutest play and the kids are so excited. Listen to your child sing
around the house. I bet they are song you even know!
Social Studies:
Mare week was a great success and our class came in 2nd place for the decorated door contest.
Scholastic News will have topics about Summer
Safety, Earth Day, Insects, Flowers and Spring animals.
We will start to learn about the animals we will see on our field trip.
Science:
We will be doing some spring planting and learn about the life cycle of
a frog and butterfly.
The biggest news of course is we all know CURSIVE and everything now is going to be written in
cursive whenever possible.
