Happy New Year!
Dear Parents,
This is the Channel 2 newsletter for January 2010! Here is what will be
happening this month.
Literature: We will be continuing in our 1st book of our literature series.
We are about 3/4 of the way through and hope to start our
2nd book by the end of the month. Also a 2nd book report
book will be assigned and it will be due by the last week in
January. More details to follow.
Math: Completion of Chapter 4-addition with regrouping then on to
Chapter 7 for telling of Time and Money.
Our classroom store will begin in 2 weeks. (class store name to
be chosen.) There will be 2 cashiers each day the store is open
on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a variety of school supply
items from 5 cents to $1.00 at this time. If you would like to
donate any supplies to our store, please check out the Wish List
on my teacher-web page. Thanks :)
Spelling: Week of: January 4- Lesson 14 More Long E words
January 11- Lesson 15 More Long O words
January 18- Lesson 16 More Long I words
January 25- Lesson 17 Homophones & Lesson 18 Review
This will be the last time I will send home a list of the weekly words.
After Lesson 18 all weekly spelling words will be on my teacher-web
for you to print out for your child.
Science: Antarctic and Arctic Animals as well as some Winter Fun.
Social Studies: Martin Luther King, Jr. as well as US State names and
names of the 7 continents.
Religion: Sister Faustina and I will be working together on Epiphany,
Baptism and begin studying the parts of the Mass.
Reminders: 1/2 day Wed. January 6th QAS t- shirts & jeans
January 18th No School
January 31st 3-4:30 Open House for new students
and 5:00 Teen Mass.
Catholic School Week Begins
