Friday, April 12.  Self-Edit essay for correct structure. Add quotes, add explanation.  Work on Introductory Paragraph. See following example:  Page-1-MLA-format-Example.doc Fix MLA format in the computer lab.  Final Essay with Works Cited due on Tuesday.  HW:  Work on your essay this weekend.  Fill out the Checklist and make changes on your paper.  We will be in the computer lab again on Monday and you will show your changes.  Final, printed essay due TUESDAY.   Re-take 1-9 on Tuesday at lunch.    Big Test 10-13 on April 26, Friday.
Thursday, April 11. Review Essay Packet Instructions.  Q&A on Funnel opening, see packet's example--end with your thesis.  Use notes on Reverse Funnel opening to guide your writing for the conclusion.  Reference the MLA Handbook for format.  Today we went to the computer lab to access our documents.  HW:  Roots Quiz 16-18. Draft #1 due tomorrow, 4 paragraph essay on To Kill A Mockingbird. 
Tuesday, April 9.  Roots Cards 16-18 graded.  Begin Full-Process Essay Assignment.   1.  Review Motifs and Lessons Learned in all TKAM Reading Logs.  2.  Identify an important lesson Harper Lee teaches in TKAM.  3.  Find evidence from the text as support.  Use the brainstorm handout provided.  Have your theme statement checked by Mrs. Bailey.  5.  Review the Essay Explanation Packet.  30 minute quiet writing period.  HW:  Draft #1 due Friday, April 12.  Work on building your thesis and writing body paragraphs.  Roots Quiz 16-18 on Friday.
Monday, April 8.  Google Apps access review.  Continue to work on paragraph revision. HW:  Write your thesis and a revised body paragraph in your document in GoogleApps.  Be sure it is in proper MLA format.

Friday, April 5.  Persuasive Buisness Letters returned.  Thesis/Persuasive Paragraph review.  Revise in class.  HW:  1.  Access Google Apps VUSD Account and create a document of today's paragraph revision.
