I have been teaching elementary and intermediate students for 15 years: two
years as a second grade teacher, 11 years with third graders, last year as a
fourth grade teacher, and now enjoying a return to fourth grade for my 16th
year of teaching.
I am ready for the rewards and challenges of educating students. As
intermedicate students, fourth graders have acquired the confidence of
experienced readers. They should now read expository text and know their
multiplication and division facts; and will use these skills to perfect and
enhance their learning experiences. I like having a positive impact in
shaping their character and love of
learning.
I enjoy teaching all the subjects, but like mathematics, and writing
instruction the most. Fourth grade builds on the skills that they have been
taught the previous year.
They come in readers, adding to fluency and comprehension, and
by the end of the school year they are learning independently through reading
of expository text and writing research papers. It is an exciting and
productive time in a child's life
