Welcome back to school for your 6th Grade year at Raymond Case Elementary
School. My name is Tina Taniguchi and I am proud to be your child's teacher
for the 2012-2013 school year.
This is my 9th year of teaching and being here at Raymond Case Elementary. In
addition to 6th grade, I have been fortunate to have taught several other
grade levels including Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade. In fact, I am
honored to have many of my 3rd graders back as 6th graders for this school
year!
The teachers here at Raymond Case Elementary have always put our students
first. In addition to teaching, I am the yearbook coordinator, a teacher
liason to our hard working PTO, and this year a new member of the Drama Team!
I was born and raised in San Francisco, California. I graduated Magna Cum
Laude from Balboa High School in 1990, received my Bachelors of Arts in
Sociology from the University of California, Davis in 1994, and my Multiple
Subject Teaching Credential from the California State University, San
Francisco and EGUSD's TEI (Teacher Education Institute) program in 2004.
I now live in Elk Grove with my husband, Mark, and our 2 children,
Alexandra (10) and Dominic (3). During my free time I love to read and spend
time with my own kids. This past year I have made a commitment to get
fit. I run every chance I get and within the past year I have completed
twelve 5k races and one 10k race. My goal is to run a half marathon (13.1 miles)
and maybe one day an actual marathon (26.2 miles)!
I am very proud to be called a teacher and feel blessed to be in such a
rewarding profession!
