June 9-13, 2008

Birthday Celebration: We will celebrate June birthdays Tuesday.  Bring your 
invitation for a treat at lunch.

Perfect Attendance: All students who had perfect attendance this year and 
have received an invitation can meet in the auditorium at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday 
for a celebration.

From the Library: If you had materials checked out of the library as of last 
Friday at noon you received a list of them Friday sixth period.  If you have 
any questions about the materials listed, see Mrs. Heraper today.  (Yes, the 
library is open today.) Return all library books and textbooks by Tuesday.  
If you pay for materials that are later found, you will receive a refund.  If 
you have preordered a yearbook, you will not receive it on Wednesday if you 
have overdue materials or fines.

From the Cafeteria: If you owe money on your lunch account, you must take 
care of it by Tuesday.  

Yearbook Distribution: Yearbooks will be distributed on Wednesday to students 
who have ordered them.  You can check the list posted outside the office to 
see if you ordered one.  In order to receive a yearbook you must bring your 
Redwood ID card, Renaissance Card, or other photo identification card.  You 
must have returned all of your books and have no unpaid fines to receive a 
yearbook. School will be dismissed at 
12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, and will be followed by an optional yearbook signing 
period until 1:30 p.m.

Lost & Found: Be sure to check the Lost & Found areas for missing items.  
Everything remaining on June 16 will be donated.

Summer Reading Club:  The Thousand Oaks Library will have a teen summer 
reading club, “Methamorphosis @ Your Library, for students in grades six 
through twelve.  It will run from June 19 until August 3.  There will be 
books, contests, programs, prizes and more!  Stop by the library or sign up 
online at www.toaks.org/library.
 
6th & 7th GRADE STUDENTS

Field Day: Thursday we will have a Field Day activity.  It is advisable to 
bring water and wear sunscreen.  School will be dismissed at 12:40 p.m.

The Last Day: Friday is a minimum day; school will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m.

Summer Reading:  Summer is a great time for reading, and the Redwood Library 
has a great opportunity for you!  If you have turned in all your books and 
textbooks you may check out library books to keep over the summer!  You may 
come in with your ID card before school, after school, or with a pass from 
your teacher anytime this week.  

Color Guard Camp: The Thousand Oaks High School Music Department is offering 
a free mini camp for students interested in learning about the activity of 
color guard.  It will be held June 16 and 17.  All girls and boys currently 
in 6th or 7th grade are welcome to attend.  For more information, pick up a 
flyer in the office or call Mary Anne Martone at 495-7491 ext. 6002.

8th GRADE STUDENTS

Magic Mountain: You must maintain at least 80 citizenship points to go on the 
trip, as well as have no unserved detentions or overdue books (including 
textbooks) or fines.  Don’t forget to bring your Redwood ID card!

Promotion:  Report on Friday at 12:15 p.m. for the promotion ceremony, which 
will begin at 1:00 p.m., and conclude at approximately 2:15 p.m.

TOHS Girls Volleyball: There will be a Girls Freshman Summer Volleyball Camp 
at TOHS beginning Monday, June 16.  If interested, pick up a flyer in the 
office.

TOHS Color Guard:  The TOHS Lancer Band is looking for students to join the 
Color Guard for the next school year. There will be a free mini camp on June 
16 and 17, and afterwards incoming freshmen will be given an opportunity to 
sign up to be a member of the color guard.  For more information, pick up a 
flyer in the office or call Mary Anne Martone at 495-7491 ext. 6002.
SUMMER CAMPS

Swim Conference:  Conejo Simi Aquatics will hold a Swim Conference June 16-
August 10 for boys and girls ages 5-14.  If interested, pick up a flyer in 
the office or call 818-865-1579.

Elite Summer Volleyball Camp:  The Elite Volleyball Club will hold a camp at 
Thousand Oaks High School July 21 – July 25 and July 28 -- August 1.If 
interested, pick up a flyer in the office or visit www.elitevbc.com.

NPHS Volleyball Camp:  Newbury Park High School Girls Volleyball will sponsor 
a volleyball camp for boys and girls ages 8-16.  It will be held August 4-7 
at NPHS.  If interested, pick up a flyer in the office or call 499-8068.

NPHS Summer Dance Workshop:  The Newbury Park High School Dance Team will 
present a dance workshop July 28 – August 1.  If interested, pick up a flyer 
in the office or call 499-2806.

Summer Theatre Camp:  The Kingsmen Shakespeare Company will offer a camp on 
the CLU campus.  Half-day classes include workshops, games, and a final 
performance.  There are a number of two-week and four-week sessions.  If 
interested, pick up a flyer in the office or visit

Summer Camp: The Conejo Park and Recreation District will hold a “Techno-
tainment Camp” at Sycamore Canyon School this summer from June 16 through 
July 11 every weekday morning.  If interested, pick up a flyer in the office.

Basketball Camp:  Southern California Hoops Camp will be held in Simi Valley 
June 16-20 and Agoura Hills June 23-27.  If interested, pick up a flyer in
