Candy Machine Project:

Reeces Pieces, Skittles, design and create a dispenser mechanism that
dispenses candy and controls the portions.
Portions will be limited to six or fewer pieces.
--It must be operated by hand by means of a sliding or
turning wheel or lever.
-- You may work in teams of three or four, but each person
produces their own machine, as well as the drawings for their machine.
-- Your machine design is copyrighted and trademarked, and
other groups may not use your design. Keep your design on file with the Patent
Office.
Drawings:
-- Make three one-dimensional views of your machine; Side,
End, and Top views.
-- Have measurements for all aspects of your machine
-- Each person in your team will produce an identical
drawing
-- Drawings must include notes on what type of materials
will be used in your machine.
Materials:
--You will be provided with one Mason Jar and one base plate
per person. Bases are approximately 7" X 7" X 3/4"
--You may use wood, plastic or metal on your candy machine.
Notes:
-- Your machine must look like your original drawings. If
there are changes to your machine, make changes to your drawings and show them
to the instructor.
-- The machines will not be painted or stained. However; wax
may be used on sliding surfaces.
-- Check back to the websites on the Six Simple Machines to
get ideas on how to create mechanisms.
