NEW SBCA Principal, Eric Nichols!

I am so very excited to tell you that the School Board approved, Eric Nichols, as the new SBCA Principal last Tuesday night!  Mr. Nichols is the current Assistant Principal of the Juvenile Court Schools in Downey, California.  He is very excited about becoming the new Academy principal and continuing to build upon the current success of the Academy.  In conjunction with the PTA, I am hosting a get to know, Eric Nichols, the new principal coffee Monday, June 1st at 8:30am in the SBCA library.  I find great comfort in knowing that I am leaving the Academy students, families, teachers and staff in the hands of such a great leader!  I encourage every to come and show your support!

Volunteer Logs!                                                                          Parents, please update your volunteer logs as they will be collected next week.  You can also submit your hours to Josie Flores at josieflores@aol.com or call  687-5733.  There are many opportunities to volunteer:  in your child’s class, PTA meetings, Site Council and ELAC meetings, Silent Auction, etc.  Just a reminder that any shortfall in the required 6 hours per quarter will result in a letter to you stating your dollar amount contribution for the missed hours.  Thanks to all our wonderful parents who volunteer – our kids benefit!

Love and Logic TONIGHT!

10th Annual 1st-6th grade Beach Olympics!

Wow!  10 years!  Since this is my last Beach Olympics, I need your help in making it THE BEST EVER!!  We also need water bottles and healthy snacks for 300 students (granola bars, fruit, dried fruit, sport bars, etc…).  Please let Sylvia know if you can bring in a case of water or snacks.  We also need parent volunteers to run the sporting events:  Soccer, Balloon Toss, Kickball, and Horse Shoes.  Again, please let Sylvia know if you can help with the sporting events and bring in filled water balloons.  I would love to have loud music playing.  Please let Sylvia know if you have access to a sound system.  I would love to have a great system!  We will all leave from school at 8:45am.  So, please make sure your child arrives to school on time for attendance purposes.  I’m looking forward to having a great Beach Olympics!!!
