Ms. Lopez received her BA in Zoology and Physiology from Rutgers University
and a MBA from San Francisco State University. She loves science and has
taken a wide variety of science classes outside her field of study.
She worked for 15 years at Bio-Rad Laboratories starting in manufacturing as
a chemist and moving into marketing and product management. Her areas of
focus were molecular biology, protein separations, and carbohydrate
analysis.
In 1998 she left work to stay home and raise her two sons. She volunteered
in PTA/PTG, Science Fairs, Junior Achievement, Boy Scouts and various sports
clubs. She began teaching middle school science at St. John the Baptist
School in 2006.
Her hobbies and interests include scrapbooking, Jazzercise, reading,
camping, watching movies, and listening to music.
My goal is to share the wonder of science with my students and to promote
the joy of life long learning in them.
