I've been married 16 years and I'm a mother of two daughters. Originally
from the Detroit Metro Area, I've also lived in Toronto, Canada and Seattle,
Washington. California has been my home for the last 23 years. St.Catherine
of Siena has been my parish community for the last 15 years. Prior to
teaching, I was the Director of Religious Education for St. Catherine of Siena
Parish.
I have a B.A. in Philosophy from St. Mary's College of California,
completed some graduate studies at the Dominican School of Philosophy and
Theology in Berkeley, and I've completed my California multi-subject
credentialing coursework at Brandman University. I love learning and love
teaching.

Philosophy of Education

I’m a Catholic school teacher and believe that I have a vocation to
provide this ministry to each and every one of my students. To be a Catholic
school teacher I must not only consider each of my students’ academic and
intellectual needs, but I must also consider their spiritual needs.

Though each student is unique and has individual needs to be met, each one is
created in the image of God, and as such is equal in dignity. Therefore,
when teaching my students, I must always consider whether I am meeting their
needs and development in a way that is commensurable to their dignity.

The purpose of Catholic education is to provide both high-quality academic
instruction in the arts and sciences, as well as an effective means by
which to catechize the faithful. It is an education that aims to provide an
environment in which students are enabled to build and deepen their
relationship with God; to foster an academic culture aimed at the pursuit
of truth; and to actively promote growth in virtue.
