Welcome to the new school year 2009-2010! Fourth grade will bring new experiences for your child
as they become more responsible and organized. The 4 R's we are working on this year are: Respect,
Responsibility, Readiness, and Resourcefulness. This year I will be using literature circles to compliment
our reading program. We should be ready for our first literature circle by the second quarter, possibly
sooner. I teach religion, math, science, handwriting, English/writing, and spelling. Mrs. Martinez, the
5th grade teacher, teaches social studies. Students also have a separate teacher for music, P.E., and
Spanish. Homework will usually be assigned Monday-Thursday nights, with weekend homework only if
