IMPORTANT   NEWS    2009-2010

*****MR AND MRS  CLAUS....

The Church sponsors a Christmas Dinner for anyone who is alone during the 
holiday season.  We have been asked to donate Mr.& Mrs. Claus Gifts.  After 
the dinner, everyone who attends is given one of these donated gifts.  If 
they are a man, they receive a Mr. Claus gift, if they are a woman, they 
receive a Mrs. Claus gift.  No need to put who it is to on the gift tag, 
simply write From: Mr. Claus, or From: Mrs. Claus so that the volunteers will 
know if the gift is for a man or woman.  Items that are useful, Cards, Books, 
Music CDs, Puzzles, Scarf/Glove Sets, Throw Blankets (Please refrain from 
food, or perfumed items since many are sensitive to these items.)

Rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 are all collecting Mr. Claus gifts only!

Rooms 1a, 2a, 3a, 4a, 5a, 6a, 7a & 8a are collecting Mrs. Claus gifts only!

As part of the first grade SERVICE....we will be adopting a family in need 
through WE CARE, locally here in Los Alamitos.  Look for more info on this 
site and your child's homework sheet

SOUND CARDS ARE FOR HOMEWORK EVERY NIGHT ONLINE at www.sraimagineit.com. If 
you feel your child needs more practice with the sounds, please do it online 
or purchase the cards to assist you....
IF YOU FEEL THAT YOU NEED A "HANDS ON" SET OF SOUND CARDS THEY ARE $25.00. 
PLEASE SEND A CHECK MADE OUT TO Saint Hedwig School

HERE IS THE INFO FROM THE PARENT COMMUNICATOR FOR THE DISASTER PREPAREDNESS 
PROGRAM:

Students are required to bring in their own disaster preparedness bag. The 
bag should be labeled with the child's name and room number. Please put in a 
few "comfort" items for your child in case of an emergency.

Some examples include:

Family/buddy photo
Favorite book
Deck of cards
Healthy snack (no chocolate/non-perishable, expiration date June 2010)
Bottled water (16oz.)

The school has purchased emergency food supplies for each student and faculty 
member

Emergency lunches:  An additional $1.45 is added to any lunch needed on an 
emergency basis. 
Children’s Choice will bill parents when a student takes an “Emergency
