•1 week at home – rewrite into final draft to hand in
•graded in both Language and Social Studies

•a written research report with 5 paragraphs
•a map of the USA (label the states)
•creative writing: “If I were president….”

PRESIDENT REPORT DUE MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2009
JANUARY
Mission Report
•approximately 5 weeks –in class research

•graded in Language, Reading, and Social Studies

•a written research report with 6 paragraphs
•a map of California (label missions)
•creative writing: “A diary of an Indian child living at the mission” (4 entries)

APRIL
Biography Report
•approximately 3 weeks – all done at home
•graded in language arts
•uses a personal interview process on a “real, live” person
•student guide with questions, and requirements (see handout)
BIOGRAPHY REPORT DUE MONDAY, APRIL 26, 2010
MAY
Endangered Species Report
•approximately 2 weeks –in class research
•one week to rewrite at home
•graded in language and science
•student guide with required information (see handout)
•a 5 paragraph written report
•world map (label continents and oceans)
•creative writing: a poem on the animal
•art: a mini information poster on the animal
•bibliography
