SJA Super Science!
Science is taught to all K-6 grades in lab as well as
classrooms!
See Jr.Hi.Highlights for 7th & 8th grade science.
Standards-based science is taught to all grades,
engaging the younger students’ sense of wonder
about the natural world, and moving to a more rigorous
use of scientific methodology in Junior High.
Our program includes hands-on, inquiry-based
experiments in the science lab as well as in the classrooms.
K-6 teachers drive the curriculum and it is enriched in labs
taught by both Mrs. Paluso and the teacher.
Technology is used to enhance our students’ exploration of
the world, and develop critical thinking and
scientific literacy skills to analyze their results.
Our mission is to prepare and produce engaged citizens,
the innovators and leaders of tomorrow.

Students prove to be Energy Whizzes!
We all know we
are in the midst of an energy crisis! Last Friday, our SJA students had the
opportunity to show their understanding of the importance of energy EFFICIENCY.
As part of our
Earth Week activities, UCSD students who serve in CALPIRG Energy Service Corps
presented to each class an interactive educational program on the value of
conserving energy. They promoted active environmental stewardship through
energy efficiency, conservation of valuable resources, and cutting the high
costs of our energy bills! See California Public Interest Research Group and
AmeriCorps www.EnergyServiceCorps.org
Everyone was
impressed with our SJA students’ knowledge! And our students left with a
better appreciation for the environment and understanding of energy
conservation practices. Now, did they turn off those appliances not in use
when they went home?!
